About this calculator
This calculator follows the standard order of operations: multiplication and division are worked out before addition and subtraction, from left to right. So 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, not 20.
It also avoids the tiny rounding errors that computers often show. For example, 0.1 + 0.2 gives exactly 0.3.
How the % key works
- After + or −, the percentage is taken of the number before it:
200 + 10%= 200 + 20 = 220. This is handy for adding tax or a tip. - After × or ÷, or on its own, % divides by 100:
50 × 10%= 50 × 0.1 = 5.

Frequently asked questions
Does this calculator follow the order of operations?
Yes. Multiplication and division are done before addition and subtraction, so 2 + 3 × 4 = 14. If you want (2 + 3) × 4, press = after 2 + 3 and then × 4.
Is my calculation history saved?
Your last 30 calculations are stored in your own browser only, so they are still there next time you visit on the same device. Nothing is sent to our servers. Press Clear to delete the history.
What happens if I divide by zero?
The calculator shows “Cannot divide by zero” instead of a misleading answer. Press any key to start again.
Does pressing = again repeat the last operation?
Yes. After 5 + 3 = 8, pressing = again adds 3 once more to give 11, just like a desk calculator.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, every calculation happens on your device, so the calculator keeps working even if your connection drops.
